Wings

You have just gone out through the sliding glass door onto your deck. You want to check the flowers to see if they need water and you get a surprise. A dragon fly is resting on a flower bud, its’ strong legs holding it firmly in place. It doesn’t seem to be aware you are there. You lean in for a closer look and it stays put. Maybe it is taking a siesta in the early evening. You get even closer, just inches away, while you have a chance. When you look at the wings on you marvel at how such delicate features can carry it. The transparency makes them seem like they are not there. There is symmetry in the structure of the wings giving these delicate creations strength.
