You have made a voyage to the north-east corner of the Minnesota. One of the main features is the Pigeon River which divides Minnesota from Canada. Grand Portage State Park if just off the highway right before the border crossing. The hike to High Falls, the park’s main feature, is easy. A one-half mile paved path and boardwalk. The falls are the highest in the state and drop an estimated 120 feet. It doesn’t look that tall when you first look at it. It is a distance way from you. You may see people walking around on the Canadian side, they have easy access to the falls. When they do you get a good sense of scale and then it appears to be the 120 feet. To give you an idea look closely at the top of the main falls. There is a rock that splits the river. That rock is the height of an average person.
