Fall marks the end of summer with a blaze of color. You are at Tettegouche State Park in northern Minnesota and have begun a hike from the trail head parking lot. You have no objectives for this hike.  You have never been here before and have decided to wing it. To see what there is to see. Just a mere 50 yards from the parking lot and the first sign of fall sears your eyes. Bold, bright red leaves stand out against the white bark of birch trees.
