Where Are We Going

If you take a trip up to the North Shore of Minnesota to take in the fall colors remember the name of this road;  Maple Leaf Drive. It is in the Lutsen area and will bring you into the heart of the Maple Trees in the Sawtooth Mountain Range. This is the range on mountains along the North Shore.

If your timing is right you will hit the area right at peak color, usually the last week in September. (It took me five years to hit it just right, just so you know.) At the peak of color driving the road is like being in another world. The trees are dense with colored leaves and filters out the green and blue portion of the sunlight. This changes the white light of the sun to a strong yellow-orange color. Creepy is not the right word for it. More like weird and wonderful all at the same time.
