Lake Agnes

If you are an avid hiker you most likely know about the Superior Hiking Trail. Backpacker Magazine voted it one of the best long-distance hikes in the country. You do not have to be a serious hiker to enjoy some of the scenery along the Superior Hiking Trail however. There are access points all along the North Shore for day hikes.

In Lutsen Minnesota take County 4 up to the Superior Hiking Trail parking lot. Settle in for a 1.3 mile hike to the southeast.  Lake Agnes is in front of you now. It is a landlocked lake. There is no boat access and the water is clear and blue. It is on the hillside along the Sawtooth Mountain Range and nestled in amongst evergreen and maple trees. Truly a breathtaking place to visit.
